It’s a great moderate hike and a great workout with scenery of rock formations and mountain tops. The Chumash out and back is not on AllTrails but the above website will give you info pics and some direction to the trailhead. We will be meeting off Flanagan Dr you can either park on the street or in the park both are free parking. DESCRIPTION:https://www.alltrails.com/explore/recording/fri-17-nov-2017-18-49–3?p=-1&sh=aoxfvb \nHello Fellow Hikers! \n(gonna be following kims route this was a hit the first time so join us and lets checkout her awesome hike) \nThis is a route that Kim created on her own back when she hiked this area every week. Attached is her AllTrails recording from the last time she did this hike. There will be an immediate incline to the top of the canyon. Then there will be a somewhat leveled off section with views of the canyon to the right and hills to the left. We will descend down towards the Paradise Falls area\, pass by a camp area\, and complete a few water crossings before starting our climb up Lizard Rock Trail back to the top of the canyon. After that\, it is all downhill back to our cars. \n* Note 1: There are no plans to stop at Paradise Falls\, however we can take a short break if we are making good time. This area (especially the falls) is often very crowded on weekends. * \n** Note 2: The trails near Paradise Falls are usually closed for 48 hours after heavy rainfall. I have an alternate route if the trail is closed. The distance should be about the same\, but the elevation gain will decrease. SUMMARY:San Francisquito Canyon South via Pacific Crest Trail

This trail is rated high on AllTrails and not a very populated trail either. A lot of solitude and backcountry mountains. The starting point of this trail will have the most incline with most of the trail being more of a easier moderate hike. only a few gradual inclines. Will be hiking passed the Bob Kimmerly Memorial Bench. Bob Kimmerly was the brainchild of a 50K and 50-mile trail run called the Leona Divide 50. He passed away from cancer in 1992 before it came to fruition\, so others brought the race to reality and created this bench to honor him. This area is known for a lot of snow during the winter season and hot during the summer. So right now is a good time to hit this trail. So time to hit the best hike to do in the rain! Why you ask? This is a 14.5 mile hike in the San Gabriel Mountains. This little unknown gem will follow water throughout our whole hike. But we will never have to cross over it. The trail is completely paved. Yep you heard that right. It is located in the mountains/forestry with no commercial or residential anywhere insight. And will probably be the only ones there. Now for the trail…It is more of a flat paved trail (no vehicles are allowed ) that whines throughout the mountains with hanging overlay of trees above us. This trail is rated moderate due to the length and the last mile we have a gradual climb that ends at a heliport pad. Remember this is your hike. All responsibilities are of your own once you attend. Please be aware of your limit. During outdoor activity you can encounter bodily injury\, snake bites\, sunburn\, overheating\, etc. This is not within our control and we ask that you are prepared for any of the above once you sign up for an Event. If you need to take several breaks (not counting quick breather breaks) and stops throughout a hike\, the hike maybe too much for your ability. Please check each event for miles\, elevation gain\, and difficulty rating. The higher the elevation gain means more incline and less leveled off sections. We offer all levels of hikes from moderate to hard to advanced only. We encourage everyone to not give up work on your core by joining our easier moderate Events and then joining our harder hikes once you are ready. 😊
