SUMMARY:Clyde Canyon\, Lower Loop\, and Charmichael Road Trail Loop
DESCRIPTION:https://www.alltrails.com/trail/us/california/clyde-canyon-trail-to-lower-loop-trail-to-charmichael-road-trail-loop \nHello Fellow Hikers\,\nOkay back from the insane Whitney trip and have my truck back from the shop it is finally time to hit the dirt! This is a trail one of our members found (Kim Jung) 🙂 This will be a lot cooler hike as it has a nice ocean breeze. This is scenic with both ocean and mountain views that dogs are able to enjoy as this trail allows dogs. Even though it will be a cooler weekend it will still get warm and humid so will be able to hit this one and be done before it gets to warm as it’s a shorter hike. Carpooling at our same meetup spot will be offered for anyone who wishes to carpool or follow to the trailhead (Best donuts located 2325 Kuehner Dr # 127 Simi Valley off the 118 freeway at 7:30am) I have attached the AllTrails link for directions\, pics\, and stats https://www.alltrails.com/trail/us/california/clyde-canyon-trail-to-lower-loop-trail-to-charmichael-road-trail-loop \nTrail loop\nMiles 4.1\nRated moderate\nElevation Gain 879ft\nDogs allowed\nParking there maybe a $4 fee to park at the trailhead but others have stated you can park at the park and walk to trailhead? Charmlee Wilderness Park… \nAs of now there is no sweeper for this hike so please know if you feel you can not finish for any reason please turn back early \nPlease check back on hike info as rain\, heat advisory\, strong winds or low attendance may cause the hike to be rescheduled \nWe will always follow Jim’s Golden Rules:\n1. Hike your own hike\n2. Please stop at every junction and split to wait for others to catch up\nPlease remember to bring all essentials you’ll need for a hike \nLiability Disclaimer:\nAnd last….The Organizer\, Co Organizer\, Assistant Organizers and Event hosts in this group are not professional guides. The function of the organizer is only to organize the trip. Each person who signs up for a Event is responsible for his or her own safety and the safety of his or her guest. Remember this is your hike all responsibilities are of your own once you attend please be aware of your limit

SUMMARY:Hummingbird Trail to Secret Spot (The Swing/Cave) to Grunge Trail Loop
DESCRIPTION:https://www.alltrails.com/explore/trail/us/california/hummingbird-trail \nHello Fellow Hikers\,\nOkay had several request for this hike. Will be taking Hummingbird Trail to The Grunge aka Undertow Trail to the Secret Spot aka The Swing/Cave Were we will make our way back to the Grunge Trail back to Hummingbird via Rocky Peak Trail. This isn’t very long just over 5 miles but the trail will have both a steep incline with the first section of Hummingbird and some scrambling. Dogs can do this hike not a problem until we get to the secret spot as that requires holding on to cable and some climbing to get into the cave. I will be bringing my dog so I wont be going into the cave. so I can stay back with other pets if you would like. The link above is for the Hummingbird Trail that’s where we will meet and follow to our cutoff. \nTrail loop\nMiles 5.5\nRated moderately hard\nElevation Gain 1532ft\nDogs allowed\nParking is limited to street at trailhead please note on the cul-de-sac you can park on both side. DESCRIPTION:https://www.alltrails.com/trail/us/california/kagel-mountain-via-dillon-divide \nHello fellow Hikers\,\nThis is a little known hike actually most people are even unaware these mountains are back there. This is however a very popular spot for Hang gliders\, Paragliders and Wing gliders. They travel to the top of this mountain by helicopter and from there they make there descend off the mountain. And that is where we are headed to the heliport pad and hopefully get to encounter some amazing jumps. This trail is really pretty mountains views that go on. Not to strenouse more of a gradual hike up to the top. Carpooling at our same meetup spot will be offered for anyone who wishes to carpool or follow to the trailhead (Best donuts located 2325 Kuehner Dr # 127 Simi Valley off the 118 freeway at 8:15am) I have attached the AllTrails link for directions\, pics\, and stats https://www.alltrails.com/trail/us/california/kagel-mountain-via-dillon-divide \nTrail out and back\nMiles 6.2\nElevation Gain 1279 ft\nRated moderate\nDogs allowed\nParking free sied road \nAs of now there is no sweeper for this hike so please know if you feel you can not finish for any reason please turn back early \nPlease check back on hike info as rain\, heat advisory\, strong winds or low attendance may cause the hike to be rescheduled \nWe will always follow Jim’s Golden Rules:\n1. SUMMARY:San Vicente Mountain: Old Nike Missile Site Trail
DESCRIPTION:https://www.alltrails.com/trail/us/california/san-vicente-mountain-old-nike-missile-site-trail–3/photos \nHello Fellow Hikers\,\nWe are gonna be visiting LA96C Nike Missile Site to start our trail. Then will continue on Sullivan fire road down the mountain. Now for a little piece of history about our hike….\nDuring the Cold War this was a military reservation. LA96C was one of 16 Nike missile sites that protected Los Angeles from a feared attack by Soviet bombers. It was an active battery from 1956-1968 with radar searching the sky for enemy airplanes. New military technology made the Nike missiles obsolete\, and the site has been made into a park. Nature is reclaiming the military ruins. Carpooling at our same meetup spot will be offered for anyone who wishes to carpool or follow to the trailhead (Best donuts located 2325 Kuehner Dr # 127 Simi Valley off the 118 freeway at 8:15am) I have attached the AllTrails link for directions\, pics\, and stats: https://www.alltrails.com/trail/us/california/san-vicente-mountain-old-nike-missile-site-trail–3 \nTrail out and back\nMiles 10.0\nRated moderate\nElevation Gain 1417 ft\nDogs allowed\nParking free dirt lot \nAs of now there is no sweeper for this hike so please know if you feel you can not finish for any reason please turn back early \nPlease check back on hike info as rain\, heat advisory\, strong winds or low attendance may cause the hike to be rescheduled \nWe will always follow Jim’s Golden Rules:\n1. SUMMARY:Devils Chair Trail
DESCRIPTION:https://www.alltrails.com/trail/us/california/devils-chair-trail \nHello Fellow Hikers\,\nIt’s Halloween! What better hike to do then Devils Chair?! This trail is a fan favorite among hikers but unfortunately was devastated in the Bobcat fire and closed for a few years. It has finally reopened and what better day to hike it. Now a little about the trail….When you arrive at the fenced “Devil’s Chair”\, you will walk out onto a peninsula of white crushed rock with a 250-foot drop-off. Look straight down from the chair and you will see a line which stretches up a ridge to your left. The pinkish Punchbowl sandstone curves up and ends at this line. The San Gabriel Mountains are being thrusted up behind you and the Punchbowl rocks are being dragged up with the mountains. As you look across the canyon below\, you will see the Pinyon Fault\, Pinyon Ridge and the San Andreas Fault. The notch in Pinyon Ridge is formed by Big Rock Creek. The Punchbowl Fault is one of the most studied faults in the world because it has so much surface exposure. Most faults are covered with sediment and can’t be seen. Carpooling at our same meetup spot will be offered for anyone who wishes to carpool or follow to the trailhead (Best donuts located 2325 Kuehner Dr # 127 Simi Valley off the 118 freeway at 7:30am) I have attached the AllTrails link for directions\, stats and photos…https://www.alltrails.com/trail/us/california/devils-chair-trail \nTrail out and back\nMiles 6.9\nElevation Gain 1368 ft\nRated hard (but really more on the moderate hard side)\nParking free dirt lot\nDogs allowed \nAs of now there is no sweeper for this hike so please know if you feel you can not finish for any reason please turn back early. \nPlease check back on hike info as rain\, heat advisory\, strong winds or low attendance may cause the hike to be rescheduled (this area is known for extreme weather both heat and snow which causes seasonal road closures) \nWe will always follow Jim’s Golden Rules: \n\nHike your own hike\nPlease stop at every junction and split to wait for others to catch up\n\nPlease remember to bring all essentials you’ll need for a hike \nLiability Disclaimer: \nAnd last….The Organizer\, Co Organizer\, Assistant Organizers and Event hosts in this group are not professional guides. SUMMARY:Mentryville: Pico Canyon Trail
DESCRIPTION:https://www.alltrails.com/trail/us/california/mentryville-pico-canyon-trail \nHello Fellow Hikers\,\nMentryville Park is a moderate hike through a historic ghost town and oil-drilling village outside Santa Clarita. Beyond the oil history\, the site also features beautiful rolling hills and lovely views\, especially in the cooler months. Those who are unaware of Southern California’s preserved history need look no further than present-day Santa Clarita. To its east in Placerita Canyon\, California’s first gold was discovered in 1842 – a full six years before the better known strike at Sutter’s Mill. And here in Pico Canyon – less than 10 miles from Placerita as the crow flies – sits the site of California’s first commercially viable oil well. Mentryville and the surrounding canyons became popular shooting locations for films and television shows\, including Lassie movies\, The Color Purple\, the X-Files\, Murder\, She Wrote\, and Big Love. Carpooling at our same meetup spot will be offered for anyone who wishes to carpool or follow to the trailhead (Best donuts located 2325 Kuehner Dr # 127 Simi Valley off the 118 freeway at 9:15am) I have attached the AllTrails link for directions\, stats and photos..https://www.alltrails.com/trail/us/california/mentryville-pico-canyon-trail \nTrail out and back\nMiles 6.8\nElevation Gain 1272 ft\nRated moderate\nDogs allowed\nParking $5.00 fee \nAs of now there is no sweeper for this hike so please know if you feel you can not finish for any reason please turn back early. \nPlease check back on hike info as rain\, heat advisory\, strong winds or low attendance may cause the hike to be rescheduled \nWe will always follow Jim’s Golden Rules: \n\nHike your own hike\nPlease stop at every junction and split to wait for others to catch up\n\nPlease remember to bring all essentials you’ll need for a hike \nLiability Disclaimer: \nAnd last….The Organizer\, Co Organizer\, Assistant Organizers and Event hosts in this group are not professional guides.
