SUMMARY:Backbone Trail: Corral Canyon to Latigo Canyon
DESCRIPTION:https://www.alltrails.com/trail/us/california/backbone-trail-corral-canyon-to-latigo-canyon \nHello Fellow Hikers\,\n(Please note later start time due to high for this day is showing 68 degrees plus its the day after Cinco De Mayo😉)\nLets hike the pretty Corral Canyon and Latigo Canyon on the Backbone Trail. Several hikers have commented on the wild flowers still in bloom along these trails. And with more rain coming our way it should still be nice and green as well. We are gonna do this hike in reverse as the original road to the starting point on AllTrails is closed. Carpooling at our same meetup spot will be offered for anyone who wishes to carpool or follow to the trailhead (Best donuts located 2325 Kuehner Dr # 127 Simi Valley off the 118 freeway at 9:00 am) I have attached the AllTrails link for stats and photos. https://www.alltrails.com/trail/us/california/backbone-trail-corral-canyon-to-latigo-canyon \nTrail out and back\nMiles 8.2\nRated moderate\nElevation Gain 1417 ft\nDogs allowed\nParking free dirt lot \nAs of now there is no sweeper for this hike so please know if you feel you can not finish for any reason please turn back early \nPlease check back on hike info as rain\, heat advisory\, strong winds or low attendance may cause the hike to be rescheduled \nWe will always follow Jim’s Golden Rules: \n\nHike your own hike\nPlease stop at every junction and split to wait for others to catch up\n\nPlease remember to bring all essentials you’ll need for a hike\n(water\,hat\,sunglasses\,hiking boot/hiking shoes poles if needed snacks) \nLiability Disclaimer:\nAnd last….The Organizer\, Co Organizer\, Assistant Organizers and Event hosts in this group are not professional guides. The function of the Organizer is only to organize the trip. Each person who signs up for an Event is responsible for his or her own safety and the safety of his or her guest. Remember this is your hike. All responsibilities are of your own once you attend. Please be aware of your limit. During outdoor activity you can encounter bodily injury\, snake bites\, sunburn\, overheating\, etc. This is not within our control and we ask that you are prepared for any of the above once you sign up for an Event. If you need to take several breaks (not counting quick breather breaks) and stops throughout a hike\, the hike maybe too much for your ability. Please check each event for miles\, elevation gain\, and difficulty rating. The higher the elevation gain means more incline and less leveled off sections. We offer all levels of hikes from moderate to hard to advanced only. We encourage everyone to not give up work on your core by joining our easier moderate Events and then joining our harder hikes once you are ready. 😊

SUMMARY:Harmon Canyon Road and West Road
DESCRIPTION:https://www.alltrails.com/trail/us/california/harmon-canyon-road-and-west-road?search=true \nHello Fellow Hikers\,\nHarmon Canyon is back open after the rain damage and now it is time to hit this trail. This is a really popular area so will need to start earlier plus the weather is starting to ease towards summer now. If you haven’t been to the area before it’s a great place to hike. Perfect time of year as its still green with wildflowers and still a cool breeze. This is a gradual incline so you can enjoy the scenery more and get in more conversation without having to stop to breath. lol Parking can fill up fast so if that’s the case kim suggest parking on kimball Rd which is off FootHill Rd. SUMMARY:PCT: Indian Canyon to Vasquez Rocks
DESCRIPTION:** Please read the entire description before you RSVP as things will be a little different with this hike ** \nhttps://www.alltrails.com/trail/us/california/pct-vasquez-to-indian-canyon?u=i&sh=aoxfvb \nHello Everyone\, \nWe will be doing this hike northbound (opposite the AllTrails route). We will do close to 9 miles of the PCT. We will see some interesting rock formations including Three Sisters Rock and Vasquez Rocks and a cool tunnel under the 14 Freeway. We may also come across some PCT thru hikers. There is no shade\, so we will be starting as early as possible. Please make sure you are prepared for 5 hours of sun exposure. This is a point-to-point hike where one trailhead requires an Adventure Pass (America the Beautiful Pass also accepted). The meeting place will be the in the parking lot at the Vasquez Rocks Nature Center. The parking lot is free and opens at 8 am. We will carpool from Vasquez Rocks to the Indian Canyon trailhead (Adventure Pass required) and hopefully be on the trail by 8:30 am. At this point\, the group size is limited to 5 people because we only have 1 guaranteed carpool vehicle (we need to leave at least 1 at the end point). I will move people over from the waitlist if I can get another driver willing to transport hikers to the starting trailhead and/or hikers driving themselves to Vasquez Rocks willing to drive people back to their cars at Indian Canyon. Please DM me if you are willing to do any transporting. As a courtesy to others\, please remove yourself from the attending list immediately if you find that you cannot attend the hike. The RSVP window will close at Noon the day before the hike. \nOptional: We also plan on going to 49er Saloon in Acton after the hike for a late lunch (https://www.the49ersalooncompany.com). \nCarpooling will be offered for anyone who wishes to carpool or follow to the trailhead (Best Donuts – 2325 Kuehner Dr #127\, Simi Valley at 7:30 am). I have attached the AllTrials link to give you an idea of the stats (remember we are doing this backwards): https://www.alltrails.com/trail/us/california/pct-vasquez-to-indian-canyon?u=i&sh=aoxfvb \nPoint to point trail\nMiles 8.7\nElevation Gain ~1600 ft\nRated moderate\nParking: Lot at Vasquez Rocks with additional overflow parking on dirt; paved lot at Indian Canyon\nRestrooms: Portable toilet at Vasquez Rocks (regular restroom available when the Nature Center opens at 8:30 am); Pit toilet at Indian Canyon. \nFor those on the waitlist\, please DM me (Kim) the following information: \n\nDo you have an Adventure Pass or are you willing to get one? Adventure Pass Info: Region 5 – Recreation Passes & Permits (usda.gov)\nAre you willing to shuttle hikers from one trailhead to another?\n\nAnswering “No” to either question will not prevent you from being able to join the hike. I just need to figure out logistics and how to move people around. Waitlist people will be moved over to attending in order of first DM to me and availability of transportation. I will do my best to keep people updated on the Comments Wall or via DM. \nAs of now there is no sweeper for this hike. If you feel you cannot finish for any reason\, please turn back early. Remember this is a point-to-point hike so your vehicle will not be at the trailhead unless you drive there. \nPlease check back on hike info as rain\, heat advisory\, strong winds or low attendance may cause the hike to be rescheduled.\nWe will always follow Jim’s Golden Rules: 1. Hike your own hike 2. Please stop at every junction and split to wait for others to catch up\nPlease remember to bring all essentials you’ll need for a hike: (water\,hat\,sunglasses\,hiking boot/hiking shoes poles if needed snacks) \nLiability Disclaimer: And last….The Organizer\, Co Organizer\, Assistant Organizers and Event hosts in this group are not professional guides. The function of the Organizer is only to organize the trip. Each person who signs up for an Event is responsible for his or her own safety and the safety of his or her guest. Remember this is your hike. All responsibilities are of your own once you attend. Please be aware of your limit. During outdoor activity you can encounter bodily injury\, snake bites\, sunburn\, and overheating. This is not within our control and we ask that you are prepared for any of the above once you sign up for an event. If you need to take several breaks (not counting quick breather breaks) and stops throughout a hike\, the hike may be too much for your ability. Please check each event for miles\, elevation gain and difficulty rating. The higher the elevation gain means more incline and less leveled off sections. We offer all types of level hikes from moderate to hard/advanced only. We encourage everyone to not give up working on their core by joining our easier moderate Events then joining our harder hikes once you are ready. 😊

SUMMARY:Tapo Canyon Trail
DESCRIPTION:https://www.alltrails.com/trail/us/california/tapo-canyon-trail?u=i \nHello Fellow Hikers\,\nJoin me on a easier moderate hike at Tapo Canyon Trail in Simi Valley. This hike has a nice gradual walk until we start a gradual climb were we will start our loop. We should encounter wildflowers and mountain views. Our loop will drop down then we will continue until we start our climb back up. From there it will be all downhill and straight back to our cars. I have attached the AllTrails link for directions\, stats and photos….We will be following the AllTrails map from start to finish…\nhttps://www.alltrails.com/trail/us/california/tapo-canyon-trail?u=i \nTrail Loop\nMiles 4.3\nRated Moderate\nElevation Gain 698 ft\nDogs Allowed \nAs of now there is no sweeper for this hike so please know if you feel you can not finish for any reason please turn back early. \nPlease check back on hike info as rain\, heat advisory\, strong winds or low attendance may cause the hike to be rescheduled \nWe will always follow Jim’s Golden Rules: \n\nHike your own hike\nPlease stop at every junction and split to wait for others to catch up\n\nPlease remember to bring all essentials you’ll need for a hike\n(water\,hat\,sunglasses\,hiking boot/hiking shoes poles if needed snacks) \nLiability Disclaimer:\nAnd last….The Organizer\, Co Organizer\, Assistant Organizers and Event hosts in this group are not professional guides. The function of the Organizer is only to organize the trip. Each person who signs up for a Event is responsible for his or her own safety and the safety of his or her guest. Remember this is your hike all responsibilities are of your own once you attend please be aware of your limit. Outdoor activity you can encounter: bodily injury\, snake bits\, sunburn\, overheating. This is not within our control and we ask that you are prepared for any of the above once you sign up for a Event. If you need to take several breaks (not counting quick breather breaks) and stops throughout a hike\, the hike maybe to much for your ability. Please check each event for miles\, elevation gain and rated. The higher the elevation gain means more incline and less level off sections. We offer all types of level hikes from moderate to hard to advance only. We encourage everyone to not give up work on your core by joining our easier moderate Events then joining our harder hikes once you are ready. 😊
