SUMMARY:Late Morning Hike at Whiting Ranch - Wahoo's Parking Lot
DESCRIPTION:This hike will be about 5.4 miles total with 820 ft. of elevation gain. \nWe are starting at the parking lot at the Wahoo’s parking lot. We will take Live Oak Trail. This turns into Serrano Road which will take us to Serrano Cow Trail. At this part of the trail\, we usually see a ton of deer\, so cross your fingers! We will get on Sleepy Hollow Trail. This will take us up to Santiago Ranch Road to Cactus Hill. We will take a short break at Four Corners. Then we will come down Whiting Road. DESCRIPTION:This hike is going to be exploring new trails in the Saddleback Wilderness! We will be doing 3.3 miles. Come join us for this awesome event! \n***Please note: You must be also be registered here: https://letsgooutside.org/activities/2023/04/22/saddleback-wilderness-access-morning-session-3/ \nRegistration on the external site opens on 4/14/23 at 8am. Sign up ASAP as spots will be limited. They will send you an email with further information. \nCome explore 3.3 miles of new trails at Saddleback Wilderness\, part of OC Parks’ Irvine Ranch Open Space\, through this self-guided opportunity. Designated trails will be open for self-guided hiking\, biking and equestrian use. There are multiple trail loop options which vary in distance and level of difficulty. Choices range from an easy one-mile loop to multiple figure-8 configurations for those looking to maximize their mileage. Regardless of distance\, nearly all options feature scenic views including a destination vista point offering 360-degree perspectives from the mountains to the sea. \nPlease review our Trail Tips page and FAQ page to prepare for your experience in the wilderness area. \nAll participants should be prepared to show their registration confirmation upon arrival at the Saddleback Staging Area prior to accessing the trail system. Gates will open no earlier than 8 a.m. Registration for this event is limited. Be sure to cancel your registration if you cannot attend\, so that other participants can register. No walk-up registrations will be allowed.

SUMMARY:Hike in San Mateo Wilderness - Bear Canyon Loop Trail to 4 Corners
DESCRIPTION:The hike we will do starts from the parking lot across from the Ortega Oaks Candy Store. It will be 6.8 miles (total) with 1200 ft. of elevation gain. We will take the Bear Canyon Loop Trail to the 4 Corners trail junction. We will take the Bear Ridge Trail back and do a lollipop look back to Bear Canyon Loop Trail and back to the parking lot. \nFor parking\, this hike requires an Adventure Pass. You can purchase a day pass for $5 or an annual pass for $30. I’m excited to be back. \nThis hike will be about 5.4 miles total with 820 ft. of elevation gain. \nWe are starting at the parking lot at the Wahoo’s parking lot. We will take Live Oak Trail. This turns into Serrano Road which will take us to Serrano Cow Trail. At this part of the trail\, we usually see a ton of deer\, so cross your fingers! We will get on Sleepy Hollow Trail. This will take us up to Santiago Ranch Road to Cactus Hill. We will take a short break at Four Corners. Then we will come down Whiting Road. SUMMARY:Hike to the Hollywood Sign/Bronson Caves - Mt. Lee Summit
DESCRIPTION:I’m very excited to plan another hike up to the Hollywood Sign and the Bronson Caves. \nThis will take us to the summit of Mt. Lee where we will get the best views of the Hollywood Sign. The total mileage for our journey will be approximately 7 miles. Our elevation change should be about 1\,200 ft. \nWe will meet at the end of Canyon Drive which is where we will park. There will be parking options right at the address listed\, on the left\, and also right before that lot on a dirt patch. \nWe will be on Canyon Drive to start on up the canyon. Once we hit Mulholland Trail we will head left and this will take us to views of the front of the Hollywood Sign. After this we’ll go a short ways up the spiral road up to the summit of Mt. Lee. Once we’ve reach the top\, we’ll head back down to where we started. Once we get to the end\, we’ll go on a slight detour to the Bronson Caves. This is the Batcave from Batman. SUMMARY:Hike at Caspers Wilderness Park - Bell Canyon + Oso Trail
DESCRIPTION:The hike I am planning is around 6.3 miles with about 700 ft. of elevation gain. It starts at the very end of the paved road\, the long gray strip that can be seen on the map. \nWe will begin at the Bell Canyon Trail head. We will continue onto that and then take it to the Cougar Pass trail. We will go up that and make a left on Oso Trail. Once that ends\, we will come back down Bell Canyon Trail until we hit Star Ridge Trail. We will take this to West Ridge Trail and go left. This will take us to a single track trail\, Dick Loskorn Trail. This hits Nature Loops Trail and this will take us back to the beginning. \nThis is a beautiful hike with expansive views.
