SUMMARY:Kern Gateway Trail site visit and exploration (Upper Richbar)
DESCRIPTION:Kern Gateway Trail Proposal\nThe Kern Gateway Trail team is a group of community members with a love of the Kern River canyon and are working to create a connected trail in the Kern River Canyon. \nThere is a short but steep climb at the beginning of the trail. Bring hiking poles\, trail shoes with good tread\, water\, food\, and the ten essentials. \nPark at Stark Creek. GPS Coordinates: 35° 28′ 31.79″ N\, 118° 43′ 27.91″ W by 8:00 a.m. \n**For Bakersfield carpoolers\, meet at the Shell gas station on HWY 178 and Comanche at 7:15 am we will leave promptly at 7:30am this will give us enough time to arrive at the trailhead at 8:00 a.m. \n*** PERSONAL RESPONSIBILITY *** No one in the group is a guide or in any way responsible for your comfort or safety. Please be prepared with adequate gear and supplies for the trip. Please remember that going out into the wilderness has risks associated with it\, and you should be aware and prepared to address any changes in weather and road conditions or to look out for/avoid random acts of nature\, including insects\, wild animals\, and natural hazards. It is your responsibility to evaluate the difficulty of any activity you participate in and decide whether you are prepared by having the experience\, skill\, knowledge\, equipment\, and physical and emotional stamina to participate safely. \n*** WAIVER OF LIABILITY *** The Organizers and members in this group are not professional leaders\, guides\, or mountaineers.
