Hike up to Purple Lake and camp overnight (8 miles 2800ft).\nSaturday\, August 10: Option to go check out either Virginia Lake or Ram Lake prior to Iva Bell (this would add about 8 miles to your day). Hike up to Iva Bell Hot Springs and camp overnight (8 miles downhill).\nSunday\, August 11: Hike to Red’s Meadow. Check out Rainbow Falls and Devil’s Postpile. For moderately to advanced backpackers due to the longer mileage\, several passes\, and extreme steepness and unmaintained nature of Baxter Pass Trail.\nThis hike requires us to shuttle vehicles between Onion Valley and Baxter trailheads.\nAdd yourself to the waitlist and I will manually add you. \nFriday:\nKearsarge Pass to Glen Pass\, to Middle Rae Lake (~12.5 miles\, 4K feet of gain\, 2600’ loss). \nSaturday:\nexplore 60 Lakes Basin\, camp at Middle Rae Lake again (4 miles\, 780’ gain\, 800’ loss one way x2\, so 8 miles total. OR hike 1.5 miles further downhill 300’ to Arrowhead/Dollar Lakes which are also very beautiful). \nSunday:\nhike PCT to Baxter Pass Trail\, Baxter Lake\, up and down Baxter Pass\, to camp at Summit Meadow (9 miles\, 2\,300’ gain and 2\,900’ loss). \nMonday:\nexit Baxter Pass Trail (4.5 miles downhill ~4\,000’ loss)
