First\, we’ll be taking a secret passage into the forbidden zone of San Nicholas Canyon and explore some old trails. This will involve crossing private property\, but we will respect gates and fencing. \nSign? What sign? \nSecond reason for the secrecy because we have created a great new hike just for ourselves and want to keep the canyon pristine and safe from the masses. DESCRIPTION:This week’s hike will be in the Los Robles area of the Santa Monica Mountains. We’ll begin at the Triunfo Canyon trail head and hike up one of the nicest trails in the Los Robles trail system\, including White Horse Canyon and Conejo Crest \nHike is about 9.5 miles and rated DIFFICULT. See hike rating guide – https://www.hikingwithdean.com/hike-rating-guide/ \nAt one point we’ll have a view of 3 lakes: Westlake Lake\, Lake Sherwood\, and Las Virgenes Reservoir \nWe will meet at the northwest corner of Triunfo Canyon Park. T \nTo get to the trailhead from SFV\, head west on 101 and exit Westlake Bl. Turn left on Westlake Bl for 1.1 miles and turn right on Triunfo for 0.4 miles. Make a left onto Tamarack. Drive up Tamarack and make a left into 2nd driveway just before gated community. Park in rear lot \nIf you are coming from Ventura side exit Hampshire Rd south to Triunfo. Turn right on Triunfo and right on Tamarack.
