DESCRIPTION:Come and join us for a loop hike (8 mile RT/1\,333 feet elevation gain) in Crystal Cove State Park. We will explore the upper and lower trails enjoying beautiful mountain and ocean vistas. Meet at the Coastal Peak Park parking lot next to the restrooms at 7:30AM. You must complete a waiver to participate on the hike. Street parking is available along Ridge Park Rd or at the Coastal Peak Park parking lot on E Coastal Peak road. Well start hiking at 8 am. SUMMARY:2023 Saturday Santa Monica Mountains Peaks #8 - Eagle Rock Valley to the Sea
DESCRIPTION:Hike #8 in the 2023 highest and most interesting peaks in the Santa Monica Mountains series is the Valley to the Sea\, a strenuous 11 mile\, 1000 gain hike from the Valley to the Sea in memory of Willy Blumhoff with a stop at the Eagle Rock (1957′)\, the outing peak. \nThis is a one-way hike with a car shuttle; it’s a variant of the one Willy took each year on his birthday. The hike will start at the Top of Reseda Trailhead\, taking the Garapito Trail\, summiting Eagle Rock\, stopping at Trippet Ranch for lunch\, and then taking the East Topanga Fire Road to Los Liones\, ending at PCH and Sunset. \nThis is a shuttle hike. Meet at 7:30 AM in the first parking lot on the right on Los Liones (PCH to Sunset Boulevard\, north 0.3 mile\, left on Los Liones) and shuttle to the Top of Reseda Trailhead. Please contact leaders with regard to shuttle requirements before coming on the hike. \nVisit the online Sierra Activities Schedule to see the rest of the monthly 2023 Saturday Peaks in the Santa Monica Mountains. (from PCH drive up Yerba Buena 5.3 miles to the Circle X Ranch parking on the right or from the 101 Freeway in Conejo Valley take Westlake Blvd 5.2 miles south to Mulholland Hwy. Bear right on Mulholland Hwy for 1.9 miles. Turn right on Mulholland Hwy for 0.4 miles\, then turn right on Little Sycamore Canyon Road/Yerba Buena Road for 5.6 miles to the Circle X Ranch parking on the left). \nVisit the online Sierra Activities Schedule to see the rest of the monthly 2023 Saturday Peaks in the Santa Monica Mountains.
