WET AND WILD IN THE PLEASANT VIEW WILDERNESS – “REVENGE”
Upper little Rock Creek was one of my favorite areas of the San Gabriel Mountains that I hiked into over 50 years ago. It was a great fishing creek that supported native trout back in the days when we had normal rainfall. I took the group there in 2017 and the WWW went wild as they normally do around water. Antonio, Jonathan and I were overwhelmed in a 10 minute water fight that saw us take flight out of the pool leaving just WWW members as seen in the photo above. This year, with all the rain we have had, it’s time for revenge. Here’s a chance for the Wednesday CDH Trekkers to get wet and wild again.
The weather has been hot but this area has lots of shade and water to keep cool.
WARNING: THERE WILL BE WWW MEMBERS ON THIS TRIP – SO PLAN ON GETTING WET. SOMEHOW, I SEEM TO ALWAYS BE THEIR TARGET WHEN I LEAST EXPECT IT AS SEEN IN THE FOLLOWING VIDEO:
WHICH LEADS TO ALL OUT WATER FIGHTS AS THIS VIDEO SHOWS IN OUR LAST TRIP THERE:
We’ll be hiking along the Burkhart Trail from the Buckhorn Campground area to the falls in Cooper Cyn. From there we’ll continue down to Little Rock Creek where we’ll leave the trail and follow the creek at least 2 miles which will involve x-country trekking. There should be several little pools with at least one good size one for the group to cool off in.
IF YOU HAVE SOMEWHERE TO BE AFTER THE HIKE, THEN THIS EVENT WILL NOT WORK FOR YOU
