THE RUSSIAN RIVER TRIP (TRAVEL DAY) + The Castello di Amorosa winery tour
I HAVE TO LIMIT THE NUMBER ON THIS EVENT, SO WWW MEMBERS AND THEN THOSE THAT HAVE HIKED SEVERAL TIMES WITH ME IN THE PAST HAVE PRIORITY
RUSSIAN RIVER HISTORY: http://www.russianrivertrip.com/history
Join me on an exciting three day adventure to The Russian River area where we’ll tour a authentically-styled 13th century castle winery and sample their wines, hike along a beautiful coastline, hike among giant redwoods, float down the Russian River and hike in the hills above Napa Valley. Sign up for the days you can attend.
AIRBNB: We’ll be staying at The Alexander Valley Lodge
TRAVEL DAY AGENDA Tuesday Sept. 10th has us driving up to The Castello di Amorosa Winery in Calistoga and tour an authentically-styled 13th century castle winery in Napa Valley. We’ll arrive there early for the 3:50 pm $30 tour. Depending on how much time we have before the tour, we could visit downtown Calistoga. Those that would like to upgrade at that time to their premium tour (additional $15) can do so. The premium offers up to 6 tastings and a tour of the complete castle. I highly recommend the $45 premium tour since we’ll get a complete tour of the castle.
After the tour and wine tasting, we’ll head over to our Airbnb and check in with our Super Host, Danielle. While dinner is being prepared, half of us can go into town and purchase food for breakfasts and dinners for Sept. 11-13.
MEETUP LOCATION AND TIME: We’ll all meet at 8:00 am in front of McDonalds in Bowerbank (near the 5 Fwy. and Hwy. 58). From there we’ll caravan in 5 cars to Napa and have lunch there before eventually arriving in Calistoga for the winery tour at The Castello di Amorosa.
EARLIER MEETUP TIME IN WOODLAND HILLS: We’ll meet David and Yolanda in Woodland Hills at 6:00 a.m. and take off from there in a three car caravan. Meet at the corner of Leonora Dr. and Ponce Avenue. Ponce Ave. is the first street east of Fallbrook.
EXPERIENCE LEVEL: Intermediate and above
