THE LOOP RETURNS BY POPULAR DEMAND!
This hike is NOT FULL! I am posting it as wait list only, to make sure that everyone who attends is relatively, similarly skilled so that we can keep together on the trail, and finish in 8 hours. I absolutely have to be back on time since there will be 50+ people at my house for dinner at 4PM.
Strong rock scrambling skills are a must as we climb almost 3000′ in about 2 miles! I am limiting the number of attendees, and will give priority to people who have hiked this trail with me before. I will move those that meet that criteria onto the hike.
We’ll be starting our hike at the Tunnel Trail’s trailhead at the end of Tunnel Rd. The fun begins in less than a mile along the Tunnel Trail, as we leave it and head up a steep ridge line following a “use” trail (usually covered in poison oak) and rock scrambling all the way to Arlington Peak. After a short rest, we will tackle Cathedral Peak – followed by the final push up to the top of Le Cumbre. Then it’s a few miles of walking on the road to reach the Tunnel Trail, which takes us back down to our starting point.
We will all stick together helping one another as a team. It’s easy to lose your way, so we will need to be in sight of each other at all times. If you aren’t willing to stay together as a group, please don’t sign up.
We should meet Paul’s group that is coming down from Le Cumbre to Arlington at some point during the hike!
Bring along at least 4 liters of water, electrolytes and food. If the weather forecast is either too hot or if it’s raining, the hike will be rescheduled.
This area is a little over an hours drive from Thousand Oaks.
