Slowly but surely, we are coming out of hibernation. Slowly but surely, let’s warm up and ease into our hiking routines.
Mt. McCoy is great for beginners and for those who are back into hiking after sitting out for a while.
We want to go up in the light and come down just after catching the sunset before it gets completely dark for safety.
Distance: 3 miles (round trip)
Elevation Gain: 700′
Difficulty: Easy – Easy Intermediate
Pace: 2.5 mph
Dogs: Yes if leashed, per State law
Drinking Fountains: No
Trail: Mostly single-track, excellent condition
Known Dangers: Rattlesnakes (they are definitely active now), slip-‘n-fall
What to Bring: 1 liter of water
Flashlight or headlamp during winter months
