SAPWI TRAILS NEIGHBORHOOD PARK

This event will be for beginners on up. We’ll be hiking the trails in the new SAPWI TRAILS COMMUNITY PARK in Thousand Oaks.
This 145 acre park is located in the open space between Erbes Road (at Scenicpark Street) on the west and Westlake Boulevard east, with Avenida de los Arboles on the north.
The park has numerous features, including disc golf course, trails for hiking, biking and horseback riding, playground, bike park, terraced areas with picnic benches and more.

MEETUP TIME: 7:00 a.m. (Boots on, ready to go)

LOCATION: SAPWI TRAILS COMMUNITY PARK SEE MAP for entrance off of Scenicpark Street in Thousand Oaks.

DISTANCE: 3.5 to 4 MILES ELEVATION GAIN/LOSS: 200 ‘/200’

DURATION: 2+ hours

PACE: Slow enjoyable pace

LEVEL: beginner on up

TERRAIN: Single track and double track trails

CDH POLICY:
– We hike in as a group and hike out as a group
– Any member with two NO SHOWS on CDH events since Jan. 1st 2017 will loose their membership with CDH.
– Members will not be allowed on this and future events until they have updated their CDH profile by answering the new questions as well as having a recognizable face photo of themselves. This update can not be done via an app on an i-phone or other type hand held phones. It must be done on a computer. If you find yourself removed from this event, it’s because you didn’t read and follow this policy.

Trail statistics are approximate.  For safety purposes always assume they are underestimated. But don’t be disappointed if they are overestimated. Bring more water and snacks than you think you’ll need.

Trail descriptions are based on previous hikes. Current conditions are unknown until arrival. Expect the unexpected and plan accordingly.
