PM Hump Day Bike Ride
We’re staying closer to home this week and heading to Westlake Village. We’ll start at the Gelson’s parking lot at 2734 Townsgate Road, Westlake Village and proceed for 2 loops around the lake. This is a very level trip with no significant hills. We will be on a bike path next to the road, so if you have reflective clothing, this is a good place to wear it.
We won’t have a lot of light for this trip so YOU MUST HAVE A BIKE HEADLAMP.
I’m not biking too fast at the moment, so we’ll be doing about 9-10 mph at best. We are leaving promptly at 5:00. A helmet is also strongly suggested and a light jacket is also a good idea as temperature tends to drop a lot after sunset.
Distance: 11-12 miles
Elevation Gain: probably 50 feet
Dogs: Only if they can ride a bike
Restrooms: Some should be available in businesses at the start.
Water Fountain: ???
Parking: Parking lot
Directions: As you enter the parking lot from Townsgate and are facing Gelsons, turn left and head towards the end of the parking lot. We’ll try to park near Intosh Computer Center (building on the left at the end of the lot)
Known Dangers: slip-‘n-fall, collision
