WHO AM I?
— I’m not so much a hike leader as a hiker willing to set up an event for exercise & fun. I say…. let’s go hiking, burn some calories and say we did it before people even got out of bed! And beat the heat of summer!
— I am a volunteer (i.e. not liable for the group). Safety is a priority for everyone in the group. This meetup is hiking with a group of friends.
— I am not responsible for you. You are responsible for you.
— You should be self-sufficient and be able to find your way back if you need to turn back early.
— I highly recommend people NOT hike on their own in unfamiliar areas. Anything can happen to the best of hikers.
— I recommend the “ALLTRAILS” app which will help to retrace your steps – or any high priced GPS system.
— IF you are ill or injured – I will try to put someone else in charge of the group and be there to help you out.
— I do hike with the Garmin InReach, but again – be prepared to be responsible for yourself.
