(Extreme) Turtle’s Beak

March 30 @ 7:00 am - 3:00 pm

I will be going up Ontario Peak “the hard way”.

This means parking a car at Icehouse Trailhead, then driving down to Barrett Stoddard Rd.
Walk up the road to Cascade Canyon, then head up to Turtle’s Beak. After a short rest, continue on to Ontario Peak. Then the easy part, go straight down the ridge to Sugarloaf, then down Falling Rock Canyon back to Icehouse and the parking lot.

Experts only.
Class 3 climbing with exposure.

Should see no snow, but in parts of the climb there could be patches.

Trail statistics are approximate.  For safety purposes always assume they are underestimated. But don’t be disappointed if they are overestimated. Bring more water and snacks than you think you’ll need.

Trail descriptions are based on previous hikes. Current conditions are unknown until arrival. Expect the unexpected and plan accordingly.
