Brisk walking is a low impact exercise, suitable for long duration like 5k to 10k. How fast you must walk for it to be considered a brisk pace depends on your fitness level. It is a good form of exercise for relaxation, to help you maintain healthy BMI and achieve cardiovascular/aerobic exercise that is good for your heart. Cardio or aerobic exercise works your large muscles over and over and pushes your heart and lungs to work hard. Over time, this makes your heart stronger — it’s a muscle, after all — and more efficient.
