Eastern Sierra Backpack to Pioneer Basin

Three day backpack to the Pioneer Basin in the Eastern Sierra. On the middle day we will summit Mount Crocker & perhaps weather will allow another peak

Middle day: Morning for Mount Crocker. 7 miles and 2500 ft. The route to the peak is class 2 and the summit is class 3. Perhaps weather will permit a second peak.

Hike in and out: 8 miles and 2000 feet starting at 10,000 feet. It will probably be warm. There is some elevation to get over the ridge and into the basin.

Meet at Mosquito Flat at the end of Rock Creek Road.

Bring a bear-proof canister.
