EAGLE AND SIMI PEAKS north of Oak Park

BEFORE YOU WILL BE MOVED TO THE GOING LIST, YOU WILL NEED TO UPDATE YOUR CDH PROFILE (The three questions must be answered with a “yes”) IF YOU HAVE NOT ALREADY DONE SO.

Join me if you are looking to be challenged with a 6 mile 1200′ gain trek, which has easy trails all the way up to some steep rock scrambling and light bush avoidance to boot (What else would you expect from a Taylor Transcendent Trek). From The Oak Canyon Community Park we’ll take on Eagle Peak in Oak Park. From there we’ll head out along Eagles Peak’s back ridge which leads us eventually into China Flat where I will continue along a trailless ridge to Simi Peak, while DaveR takes a trail to Simi Peak. It’s your choice who to follow at that point. We’ll all link up at Simi Peak and take the trail all the way back down to the cars

MEETUP LOCATION: Oak Canyon Community Park’s middle parking area near restrooms:

Trail statistics are approximate. For safety purposes always assume they are underestimated. But don’t be disappointed if they are overestimated. Bring more water and snacks than you think you’ll need.

Trail descriptions are based on previous hikes. Current conditions are unknown until arrival. Expect the unexpected and plan accordingly.
