Devils Postpile Camping

This will be a camping trip to Devils Postpile Valley just past the Mammoth Ski Lifts.

There will be varying hikes:
Rainbow Falls : 3 miles
Shadow Lake: 8 miles.
Ediza Liake : 12 miles

Or we might Drive an hour north to Bodie Ghost Town

LEVEL: Strong Intermediate for Most Hikes. There will be snow on some trails.

Lodging: You can stay in the Reds Meadow Campground or stay on the cabins next door at Reds Meadow. I will likely be staying in a cabin.
The campgrounds are first come first served. No reservations.

You don’t need to RSVP “NO” if you can’t make it–let’s save the “NOs” for the folks that wanted to go, then needed to change their minds.

CDH POLICY: Any member with two NO SHOWS on CDH events since Jan. 1st 2017 will loose their membership with CDH. Members will not be allowed on this and future events until they have updated their CDH profile by answering the new questions as well as having a recognizable face photo of themselves. This update can not be done via an app on an i-phone or other type hand held phones. It must be done on a computer. If you find yourself removed from this event, it’s because you didn’t read and follow this policy.

Trail statistics are approximate.  For safety purposes always assume they are underestimated. But don’t be disappointed if they are overestimated. Bring more water and snacks than you think you’ll need.

Trail descriptions are based on previous hikes. Current conditions are unknown until arrival. Expect the unexpected and plan accordingly.
