A 5-mile hike from Sycamore Grove Park along the Arroyo Seco from Mt. Washington to Pasadena. Look for us in the shade under the sycamore trees near the public restrooms in the center of the park.
There is free parking at the north end of the park, accessible from South Avenue 49, or along Figueroa Blvd. Sycamore Grove Park is only a short walk from the Metro Gold Line Southwest Museum Station. If you take the train, please give yourself at least 5 minutes to walk from the station to our meeting point in the park.
The hike will start promptly at 9 a.m., with or without you.
We will transit several neighborhoods in Highland Park at the start of the hike and several neighborhoods in Pasadena at its conclusion, but most of the hike will be along a scenic section of the Arroyo.
Those who wish can lunch with the group at Lucky Baldwin’s after the hike or you can proceed directly to Pasadena’s Memorial Park Gold Line station four blocks from the pub.
We will return from Pasadena via the Gold Line. You will need a Metro tap card ($1 for the card plus fare) for the Gold Line.
Since I limit the number of participants please do not RSVP “Yes” unless you mean it. My mobile number is 323-354-0168.
