This evening we’ll be exploring some of the nooks and crannies of the the San Fernando Valley.
Our hike begins heading south into Corbin Canyon’s 328 little-used acres along grasses and spooky oaks. After about half a mile on west side of canyon we’ll climb up to Winnetka Ridge delivering broad views of the San Fernando Valley, Santa Monica Mountains and Corbin Canyon below. We’ll continue south to dirt Mulholland, and depending on time, explore some side trails.
We return via Winnetka Ridge, descend back into Corbin Canyon and create a loop with the east side of canyon
I estimate the hike to be about 4-5 miles with 800′ elevation gain. Bring green (best) or red headlamp if you have one, but probably not needed. No white lights allowed on our hikes (but always have one for emergencies)
We meet at the south end of Corbin Ave. Its not a straight shot up Corbin from Ventura Blvd — see map
